I have a way of utilizing bank accounts to help me keep my finances straight and ensure that I have the needed funds available for necessities like monthly bills and transportation expenses.
I developed this method several years ago after trying to manage my money similar to the envelope system using cash for purchases. I found myself with way too many envelopes of way too much cash trying to figure out how to check out at Walmart when my cart had items in it from just about every envelope category. It was madness.
